Kyushu Specialty Products Feature

Located in the southern part of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, the tropical Ibusuki City is the only place in the world where you can enjoy natural hot springs on the coast, and “sand baths” where you can bathe in heated sand.

Please come and enjoy Ibusuki, which in addition to hot springs, is full of attractions such as the majestic Mt. Kaimon and Lake Ikeda, and dried bonito flakes, which are essential to Japan’s dashi soup stock culture.

Fugu is in season from autumn to winter, and is said to be at its most delicious from November to February. This is because the flesh of the fugu is firm and fatty during this time, enhancing its taste. Fugu can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes, including sashimi, sake fillet, chawanmushi, and fried fugu.

Nagasaki, the birthplace of Castella cake: A local specialty with a history of over 400 years, Castella cake is a Japanese adaptation of a European confection brought by the first Western visitors to Japan. This well-loved traditional sweet is popular across all ages and is available year-round.
Huis Ten Bosch: This Dutch-style resort will be filled with beautiful seasonal flowers for the One Million Tulip Festival (held from February 7th to April 6th, 2025)

Have you ever tried it? It’s a very delicious strawberry! The fruit is large and well-formed, red and shiny, with an excellent balance of sweet and sour!

[Yanagawa Hinamatsuri Sagemon Meguri]
This is a combination of fabric crafts and “Yanagawa Mari”, a local craft made vibrant threads and colors for local celebrations for young girls. The crafts are filled with wishes from mothers, grandmothers, relatives, etc., for happiness and good health.
