Toyooka, Japan's Largest Bag Producing Region

There are four major bag production areas in Japan. Along with Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, three of Japan's most important major cities, the specialized bag production area centered around Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture is one of the largest bag production areas in Japan. Many world famous business and collector brand bags are manufactured in Toyooka, and it is considered to be the main production center for a variety of high-end brands known to those in the industry.
The Strict Certification Process for "Toyooka Bags"

Not all bags manufactured in Toyooka City are Toyooka bags. Toyooka bags have to undergo a two-stage examination, consisting of a company examination and a product examination. Only products that meet the high standards of these tests are then certified as "Toyooka bags". While keeping the thousand years of tradition and history in this craft held in utmost importance, we are promoting SDGs initiatives such as training craftsmen and running schools for trainees to learn the necessary skills to meet quality standards.
